Crosscutters & Phillies Extend AgreementOfficial Phillies Site
June 23 - The Williamsport Crosscutters and Philadelphia Phillies jointly announced today that they have extended their Player Development agreement for two years.  The new agreement will cover the 2009 and 2010 seasons.  The formal announcement was made prior to the game Sunday between the Cutters and Jamestown Jammers.

In announcing the agreement Phillies Director of Minor League, Steve Noworyta stated, “The Phillies have been very pleased with our new relationship in Williamsport.  We’ve found the crew in Williamsport to be a first-class operation in all aspects.  The upgrades they continually make to the stadium are a tremendous help to our instructors and players.  This extension shows that we’re happy being there”

Crosscutters President Paul Velte added, “When we signed our first two-year agreement with the Phillies in the fall of 2006, it was always our goal to make it a long-term relationship.  It’s been a great partnership so far, and we hope it continues for many years to come.”

The Williamsport Crosscutters play in the 14-team New York-Penn League and began their affiliation with Philadelphia in the 2007 season.
