Cutters Games to be heard on ESPN Radio in ‘08
All 76 games to be broadcast
The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced that their full schedule of games will be heard on ESPN 1050 (WLYC) during the 2008 season.

Cutters VP of Marketing & Public Relations, Gabe Sinicropi expressed the team’s excitement with the new partnership saying, “We see this as a deal that makes sense for both sides and most importantly is good for the fans.  ESPN 1050’s new local ownership group is highly committed to bringing local sports to the airwaves.  They have exciting plans for the future and the Cutters are glad that we are able to step up and help them solidify their local sports presence.  We look forward to being part of their growth in the market”

This will mark the first time in Crosscutters team history that all home and road games will be broadcast.  The last time that happened in Williamsport was in 1994 when WWPA broadcast the full Williamsport Cubs season.

ESPN 1050 Sports Director Todd Bartley will handle play-by-play duties.  Bartley has broadcast over 750 high school and college games in his radio career that has included stops in Ohio and North Carolina.  He covered the Indians during 1997 World Series while working in Cleveland and has been heard in Williamsport over the last year broadcasting high school football, basketball and baseball games as well as Lycoming College Women’s Basketball.

Bartley looks forward to the new assignment saying, “I became a Phillies fan during my high school years, so covering the future Phillies in Williamsport on a day-to-day basis will be extremely exciting for me.”

“Todd brings a wealth of broadcast experience, baseball knowledge and enthusiasm that I think fans will thoroughly enjoy”, Sinicropi said.  “As all good baseball broadcasters do, he can paint the picture and make the listeners feel like they are at the game.”

The first broadcast will be June 17 as the Crosscutters begin the 2008 season with a 3-game series in Mahoning Valley before returning on June 20th for the home opener against the Jamestown Jammers.  All games can also be heard via the internet at www.crosscutters.com.
