Cutters Bats
Explode in 13-3 Win Over Spikes
Williamsport Takes 3-1 Lead in SawBuck Series
June29 -
The Williamsport offense
exploded Sunday night in State College en route to a 13-1 thumping of the
Spikes.
The start of the game was delayed by an hour due to rain showers and the
Cutters wasted little time in getting things going by plating a run in the
top of the first inning on an RBI single by C Travis d’Arnaud. In all,
Williamsport collected a season-high 18 hits and scored runs in six
different innings.
d’Arnaud finished the game with three hits, all doubles, with four runs
batted in. 1B Jeremy Hamilton and DH Darin McDonald also had three hits
in the game.
Michael Cisco (1-0) picked up the win in relief of starter Vance Worley
who held the Spikes to one run and two hits in four innings of work.
Spencer Arroyo worked the final three innings to notch his first
professional save.
The win gives the Cutters a 3-1 lead in the SawBuck Series. The rivalry
resumes Monday night with a 7:05pm start at Williamsport’s Historic Bowman
Field.
