Game Recap

Cyclones Complete Sweep of Cutters
July 4 -
The Crosscutters bats went silent once again, Friday afternoon as the Cyclones beat Williamsport 9-2 and swept the series 3-0.

LHP Spencer Arroyo took the mound for the Cutters with hopes of earning his first win of the season, but ran into trouble early and often. Arroyo, the Phillies 31st round selection in the 2008 draft out of Modesto Junior College, allowed seven runs, all earned, on seven hits in 3.1 innings of work. RHP Mike Cisco would relieve Arroyo, but would have difficulty getting through the Cyclones line-up as well. Cisco surrendered two runs on two hits in 3.2 innings. Eryk McConnell pitched the last two innings only giving up a hit while striking out two.

Offensively for the Cutters, 3B Cody Overbeck hit his second home run of the season and C Travis d’Arnaud went 2-4 with an RBI.

Williamsport will try to turn things around when they host the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Historic Bowman Field on Saturday. The game can be heard on ESPN 1050.  Recap | Box Score
